Design Your Goodbye

A 1:1 Strategic Rite of Passage
with Stuart L. Morris

For those standing at the final threshold: whether navigating the slow transition of age or the sudden clarity of a diagnosis.

The Core Philosophy

This intensive day is about the "Sacred Art of Leaving."

This is the most profound decision a person will ever make: choosing how they will be remembered and how they will hand over their authority.

We use the Hello, I Love You, Goodbye framework to design your legacy and your eventual departure.

The Shared Architecture: Because a legacy is a shared experience, your spouse or partner is welcome and encouraged to join you for this intensive at no additional cost.
Furthermore, we invite your adult offspring to join the circle.

Their presence allows for the formal "Transmission of Secrets" and a "Legacy Covenant": ensuring that the next generation understands the values and the vision you are leaving behind.

The Eve of Change

The Overnight Foundation: You arrive at High Trenhouse the evening before. We start with a fire and a "Quiet Inventory."

This is the "Separation" phase: leaving the noise of the world to enter the sanctuary of truth-telling.

The Arc of the Day

08:30 | The Breakfast of Witness

  • Goal: To move past the "Hagiography" (the idealised version of your life) and look at the "Authentic Self." We establish a space of absolute "Identity Safety."

09:30 | Phase 1: GOODBYE: The Legacy Audit

  • The Harvest: Identifying the three "Truths" you want your life to represent.
  • The Resignation: Formally identifying the roles you are ready to "lay to rest" (The CEO, The Provider, The Manager).
  • The Unfinished Business: Naming the regrets and the "ghosts" that need to be addressed before the final chapter.

11:30 | Phase 2: I LOVE YOU: The Generational Handover

  • The Family Covenant: If offspring are present, we facilitate the renegotiation of the family hierarchy. We move from "Oversight" to "Ancestry."
  • The Witnessing Session: Creating a space where your partner and children can tell you what they actually value about your presence (often it is not what you think).
  • The "I Love You" Index: Mapping out the relationships that require active restoration and "Chesed Shel Emet" (True Kindness).

13:00 | The Reflective Lunch & Dales Walk

  • Nutritional Reset: A structured lunch followed by a reflective time in the grounds. Processing the weight of the "Goodbye."

14:00 | Phase 3: HELLO: Designing the Ceremony

  • The Final Script: Designing your funeral or legacy ceremony from the ground up. We choose the readings, the music, and the "Message to the World" that ensures I can tell the truth when the time comes.
  • The Presence Portfolio: Identifying the specific experiences you will curate in your remaining time to ensure your legacy is "Lived" and not just "Written."
  • The 90-Day Blueprint: The first three actions to begin the restoration of your most vital connections.
